Lauderdale has great beaches, but unfortunately they're a good distance from the stadium.

Orioles at Fort Lauderdale Stadium

More Florida Spring Training Stadiums

Location: near Powerline Road

Our thoughts: In terms of location and amenities, Fort Lauderdale Stadium leaves a lot to be desired. The location, adjacent to Florida Atlantic University's Lockhart Stadium, is within Fort Lauderdale city limits, but it's still quite a hike from the beaches. We encountered a lot of traffic approaching the area and just getting into the parking lot.

Concession stands were sparse, and lines were long. We had general admission seats behind right field, and the multiple entrances to the park for different seating areas forced us to stay there, with no chance to sneak into better seats.

Before the Orioles moved here, this was the Yankees home field for more than 30 years. In recent years, the future of the Orioles here has been uncertain, as there have been talks of moving to the Dodgers' old home in Vero Beach or even to the Cactus League in Arizona.
