Our thoughts: Islands of Adventure is the younger, better sibling theme park to Universal Studios. It's right next door, with the two separated by the bars, restaurants and stores of Universal CityWalk.

The park has five themed areas, each with a distinct feel, all very well done. Clockwise from the entrance, the "islands" are: Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurrasic Park, The Lost Continent, and Seuss Landing. Each area has plenty of stores, eateries and architecture that all follow the theme.

This park has more great rides than any other them park in Orlando. It isn't strictly a water park, but many of the rides will get you wet, and you'll see lots of people walking around the park in their bathing suits.

The rides you don't want to miss are:

• The Incredible Hulk Coaster, an intense roller coaster on Marvel Super Hero Island that starts by shooting you uphill
• The Amazing Adventure of Spider-Man, an indoor ride with simulated motion, 3-D and other special effects
• Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, a flume ride in Toon Lagoon that will get you very wet as you go down a very steep drop at the end
• Popeye & Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges, a round whitewater raft wide (also in Toon Lagoon and also destined to get you very wet)
• Jurrasic Park River Adventure, a much larger boat ride that also will get you wet
• Dueling Dragons, an intense pair of inverted roller coasters in The Lost Continent

Tip: Get the the park early and hit the good rides before long lines form. Get as many fast passes as you can.
