Mexico: The River of Time boat ride (Orlando)Location: Mexico, World Showcase, Epcot Center Our thoughts: Granted, the World Showcase at Epcot Center is more about the cultures of the world than any thrill-seeking ride. But the "ride" at the Mexico area really shouldn't qualify as a ride. Disney would do better to just get rid of the ride and open a few more Mexican restaurants in this area. Imagine if the "It's a Small World" ride only featured Mexican people. That's actually giving this ride some praise. The ride is basically a boat ride that displays the history of Mexico, from the early days of the Aztecs (we think they're Aztecs), through modern days. As your boat goes through the ride, you see animatronic characters acting out the different scenes. But for the most part, the ride goes something like this: Mexico was a land where ancient civilizations roamed. Then, some wars. Fiesta time! At least there's no annoying song that gets stuck in your head when you get off the ride. Don't worry about any lines for this one -- and if you ever do see a line for it, silently chuckle to yourself that you've read this and know better. Tip: If you really want to ride it, go to one of the shops, buy a giant sombrero, hit the bar for five shots of tequila and then jump on the ride. With those preparations, the ride should be more entertaining.
