Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls (Orlando)Location: Toon Lagoon, Universal Islands of Adventure Our thoughts: Islands of Adventure's Toon Lagoon area is also known as the "Wettest Place on Earth." Combined with the Popeye ride, this area will soak you through and through. We rode this one in both March and in July. Trust me, it's better in July. The ride is basically a "sit in a log and get slightly wet until the giant drop at the end, at which point you will get drenched." There's some cute animatronics about Dudley trying to save Nell from the clutches of Snidely Whiplash, and some mini-drops on your way to the top. When you get to the top and begin the big, steep drop, you won't see the track, even if you're sitting in front. You'll see see black darkness (covered by mist) as you seem to go underground (through a house). The ride doesn't stop, like traditional flume rides, though. You actuall go over a small hump at the end before the giant splash happens. You will get wet, which is good in July. Also, watch the bridge after the big drop, to see if anyone is on the bridge getting ready to get you wet with the coin-operated water hoses. We caught many unsuspecting riders with some water after they thought the ride was over. Tip: Hold onto your hat! One of us lost a knockoff Red Sox hat when a wave came over the front of the boat on one of the preliminary drops. (For fun, look at all of the hats floating in the water near the drains.)
