Our thoughts: If you'd like to wait in line to take a very boring ride that lacks any actual excitement, then Maelstrom might be a good ride for you. But if you like to do fun things at amusement parks, then probably not.

This Viking-style boat ride is actually a lot like the equally boring Mexico ride, using a boat journey to tell you about the history of Norway. There's one drop that the boat takes that is much less exciting than Disney's marketing department would like you to believe.

After the ride, you get out and a Norwegian guide gives a short talk about Norway. Once she's done and the previous movie screening has ended, a door opens up to let you see a movie about modern-day Norway. Many people walk right through the screening room, skipping the movie, as they've already had enough boredom for one day.

Between the boat ride and the guide's talk, you might have to wait a while for the guide to start the spiel. As I stood there waiting, I anticipiated that she would start out by saying "The history of Norway is short and boring."

Tip: Just because it's a ride doesn't mean it's fun.
