Location: 1578 Broadway, just north of Times Square and the Olive Garden

Our thoughts: There's about a billion souvenir shops in the Times Square area, but Spirit of Broadway is the one that has the best selection of T-shirts featuring Homer, Bart and other characters from 'The Simpsons.' Every time we go to New York City, we pop in to this store and see what new designs they'll have. About half my wardrobe now consists of various Simpsons T-shirts, including the ever-popular "Livin' La Vida Sofa" design. We've never gotten more comments about an article of clothing than this T-shirt (so much so that we bought a backup shirt because the original one has started to fade).

The store also has other T-shirts of the souvenir variety (if you insist on getting one that says 'New York City' or something like that), assorted knick-knacks, and a pretty decent selection of Broadway-related music, posters and theater stuff.

Be very careful when you're inside the store, as it is very tiny, making the aisles very cramped. Go in, locate the Simpsons T-shirts, and get out fast.

Tip: Don't try to take the T-shirts out to look at them. Let the staff do it for you. They might yell at you if you try it yourself.
