We asked the rental car checkout lady where the In-N-Out was, and she gave us perfect directions (right out of the parking lot, four lights, left onto Sepulveda and you'll immediately see it). She then told us that a lot of people ask her where it is. So people who rent from Hertz clearly have their priorities straight. Unfortunately we arrived right at the lunch rush, so we faced long lines and had to wander around until we found a free table. Luckily the line moves fast, because there are only four menu choices (hamburger, cheeseburger, double-double [double-meat, double-cheese] and french fries). The order went quickly it was waiting for the food that took a while. We attribute this to the lunch rush, though, as we've been to other In-N-Out Burger locations where it wasn't as busy. Once we got our food we quickly wolfed it down. The burger includes lettuce, tomato, thousand island dressing (secret sauce), a burger and cheese on a toasted bun. You can also get onions on it; they ask you if you want onions or not when you order. The fries are outstanding, they are fresh-cut, and they give you a lot. The shake was good, it was better than a McDonald's or Burger King shake but not as good as one you'd get at an ice cream store. Overall we thought it was a great value, and the food was good, especially after a long flight where they make you pay for the food on an airplane or give you a miniscule bag of pretzels. Tip: Avoid the lunch rush if possible.
