Venetian Gondola Rides (Las Vegas)Location: Venetian Hotel & Casino Our thoughts: If you're a romantic, one Vegas must-do is a gondola ride on the Grand Canal. Hop on with your beloved and let a gondolier push you down the man-made waterway and back, crooning an aria all the way. You'll cruise by the Grand Canal Shoppes, restaurants and cafes - and everyone will be staring at you. It's true, the eyes of the passers-by and those eating canal-side will be on you. You may even end up in the vacation photos of some tourist from Iowa. If you can't take the attention, stay off the gondola because there's no privacy on the Grand Canal. And if the idea strikes you as hokey, then by all means save the $15 per person, stand on the banks of the canal and quietly tee-hee at the suckers getting ferried around by a guy from the Bronx with an Italian accent. Bottom line: If you think it's a cute idea, it's worth the money. If you think it's stupid, go get freaked out by the living statues at St. Mark's Square. Tip: Gondolas hold up to two couples, so you may have company on your romantic ride, depending on the line.
