Manhattan Express Roller Coaster (Las Vegas)

More Las Vegas Rides

Location: New York New York Hotel & Casino

Our thoughts: The Manhattan Express slowly makes its ascent 203 feet around the back of the hotel, then drops 143 feet to send you on your way through inversions, barrel rolls, twists and dives. Speeds reach nearly 70 mph and you spend a great deal of time any way but right side up. The ride seems rather short for the $10 price tag (check the tourist books for discount coupons), but it's a thrilling ride nonetheless.

Make sure you keep your head back during the ride to minimize the whiplash and protect your neck from the inversions, rolls and more. You're not allowed to bring any sunglasses, hats, handbags or other items onto the ride. You'll have to rent a locker before you ride to store anything you brought.

If you're in Las Vegas and you're a roller coaster fan, this is a must. It's not the best roller coaster in the world, but it's one of the best in Vegas (we're still working up the nerve to try the one on top of the Stratosphere).

Tip: Consider buying a multi-ride pass. It's more money, but a greater value the more you ride.
