The Border CafeLocation: 32 Church Street, Cambridge Our thoughts: The Border is a popular Mexican restaurant on the outskirts of Harvard Square. Despite the fact that the place is huge (with many tables on the first floor and basement, plus a large bar area) there's invariably a long, long wait to get seated on Friday and Saturday nights. With the restaurant fronting on the corner of Church Street and cobblestoned Palmer Street, waiting outside for a while isn't such a bad thing. The food has always been very good and reliable, with a wide selection of Tex-Mex and Cajun dishes, and some good pasta selections. The service varies from good to spotty. Tip: Just keep eating chips and salsa and getting free refills of both.
