Archer Farms Waffle-Cut Au Gratin Potato Crisps
Taste test: These snacks looked like waffle fries, but they were covered with an orange powder. The photo on the front of the bag was somewhat misleading. The picture made us expect more of a white cheddar powder, not the kind that reminds you of Cheetos and has you running for the kitchen to get a napkin for all the extra powder that will get on your fingers.
However, they did taste good. You can lick the orange powder, which sort of tasted likes cheese, but not the Cheetos kind of cheese. It was much milder, somewhat like a dish of potatoes au gratin. The crisp itself tasted better. It had a very strong crunch, and reminded me of Munchos, especially in the aftertaste.

Smell test: Not a really good smell.
From the package: “Meet the all-natural, crunchier cousin of potatoes au gratin. Perfectly seasoned with real Cheddar Cheese. And why do we call them 'crisps?' Because our select premium potatoes are waffle-cut for extra crunch, then carefully cooked in expeller-pressed oil to the most satisfying crispness. Enjoy this fresh snack in your own bistro — a la carte or with the soup of the day. Everybody deserves a snack now and then ... and when you do, be sure you treat yourself to the best quality and the finest ingredients: reach for Archer Farms.”
