Taste test: These pretzel nuggets were fairly large and had rugged exteriors, with the flavor powder adhering mostly to the various cracks and crevices. The pretzel exteriors had a nice range of colors.
I crunched in to find that the nuggets had a good soft feel but still plenty of crispness, with quite an impressive kick of habanero heat. I started out with just a small, broken piece (most were fully intact) and just eating that pretty well set my mouth on fire. Some lemonade helped to temper the heat, but when I dove back into the bag for a full-size nugget, the heat returned with a vengeance. There was just a bit of sour cream the held back the heat at first, but the the habanero won out in the end, with heat that stayed around for a long time in the aftertaste. Very good, and hot enough to satisfy most hot chip fans.
