Taste test: This bag contained roundish kernels with a light coating of golden caramel, plus some large spots that appeared to be more concentrated caramel on many pieces.
I crunched in to find a much different feel than your typical caramel corn — and a really nice one! This caramel corn was light both inside and out, with a fairly thin coating of caramel that didn't add much bulk, and a fluffy, light-as-air crisp interior. The taste was great, with lots of delicious sweet caramel. Some kernels had more caramel than others, but the mix of popcorn and caramel was good in all cases. I actually expected something different because of the word "Crunch" in the name, but this was a major winner for its texture. Great!

Smell test: Nice mild caramel smell, with lots of corn too.
From the package: “For our classic Caramel Popcorn use only 100% Irish butter to create a delicious crunchy butterscotch coating over lightly toasted air popped corn.” ... “How doing make our popcorn? Here at the Gourmet Popcorn Company we make our popcorn from only the finest sun-ripened corn. We pop our corn in the lightest sunflower for a light crunchy texture. That flavor it with carefully selected ingredients in the traditional batch method.”
