Taste test: I don't buy every snack that I see in stores, but instead I pick things that stand out for various reasons. This one stood out for size. Perhaps as a result of the ongoing expansion of the universe, we've seen some real growth in the size of snacks lately. This is not refering necessarily to the snacks themselves, but the packages that they come in. It was the largest snack bag I've ever seen. The bags at Costco were so big that were smushed to fit into their cardboard display.
I recently reviewed the enormous Rice Krispies Treats Fun Sheet, but that wasn't a bag, and even then, this one was bigger by both area and volume. It measured 14 inches across and 21 inches high.
I opened the bag to find that it was filled just about halfway. That was unfortunate, but half of a huge bag is still a lot of popcorn. There were various sizes and shapes of kernels, many of them roundish. Many had light brownish, sugary-looking areas, with other parts white. I crunched in to find a great feel, as the kernels felt light as a feather inside, with light crunch on the outside. The taste wasn't typical kettle corn. It reminded me of Corn Pops cereal. I couldn't taste much salt. Pretty good.
