Taste test: The first that I heard of this Trolls movie was from a Lay's Poppables promotion a week ago, and now two kinds of Trolls Oreos have appeared. Trolls World Tour is apparently a sequel to a first Trolls movie that escaped my radar entirely. And it's evidently a big enough deal that Oreo was willing to change their logo (which we previously saw changed only for Game of Thrones Oreos).
The sandwiches used the chocolate Oreo cookies, with special designs on one of the two faces and light green filling that promised to contain both glitter and Pop Rocks-like stuff (which first appeared in the Firework Oreos). The special cookie designs were a cassette tape, the words "Music is Life" and some sort of disc, all of which would probably seem more connected to the movie if I knew anything about it, but didn't seem to have have anything to do with trolls (small T).
I pulled open a cookie to find nothing resembling glitter, but there were some teal-colored bits mixed into the otherwise light green filling. I bit in to find the usual Oreo taste, with no immediate Pop Rocks sensation, but the popping did emerge deep inside my head with some delay. There seemed to be less popping than I remember from the Firework ones. There were 21 sandwiches provided.
