Taste test: This box contained 12 individually wrapped large, round cookies, with a light beige exterior (lighter than shown in the pictures on the package) bearing a pattern like a six-petal flower in the center (fewer petals than depicted on the box).
I bit in to find a soft, crumbly feel from the doughy exterior, and it was sufficiently thick that I didn't notice any date on the first bite. However, a look at the inside revealed that there was quite a lot of date filling too. On subsequent bites, I could taste the date, but it was surprisingly mild, with a low level of sweetness and fruitiness. Nothing I'd rave about here, but it was a pretty good cookie. When I shared the other cookies around, some snackers compared the taste to Fig Newtons, but I'd far rather eat a Fig Newton, as they're much more flavorful.
