Taste test: When we tried the limited-edition Lemon Twist version of Oreos, the results were bad, very bad. The obvious conclusion was that lemon and Oreos don't mix. However, we had never tried this non-limited edition flavor (does that make it an unlimited edition?), and we got a tip from a snacking friend that these were really good.
Turned out they were different from Lemon Twist in at least one very major way: Unlike Lemon Twist, they don't use the chocolate Oreo cookies, instead opting for the ones that they use in Golden Oreos. I crunched in to find a nice mix of lemon and the Golden Oreo cookie, especially on the first bite. Crunchy and lemony without being too strong or too sweet. It seemed like the taste of the lemon filling outlasted the cookies, so the balance in the aftertaste wasn't quite so good, with a whole lot of sweet lemon taste. But it was still vastly better than the Lemon Twist.
