Taste test: This special flavor of Oreos came in the same small 10.7-oz. package as other recent limited editions, but there was something brand new about this one — the cookies. Rather than reusing an existing cookie and just making a new filling, it looked like they started with Golden Oreo cookies and added small bits/streaks of chocolate within them. It didn't give the appearance of chocolate chip cookies, but rather it was an odd, irregular look. The creme filling had a slightly brownish off-white color, plus there were small bits of chocolate in the creme.
I crunched in to find that the cookies had a crunchier, less brittle feel than standard Oreos, and the filling felt very creamy but tasted like slightly-too-sweet cookie dough (which would have made more sense for the Cookie Dough Oreos). Not great, but not bad either. The taste just didn't particularly remind me of chocolate chip cookies.

Smell test: Kind of Oreo like, but not entirely, as there is a strong hint of chocolate chip cookie.
From the package: “Choco chip flavored creme artificially flavored” ... “Limited Edition”
