Taste test: These nugget-shaped puffs were mostly hollow and had gaping holes in them, a strange look that didn't seem all that appetizing to our tasters.
We crunched in and found that the initial taste was very weird and not good, not particularly a "salty caramel" flavor. This was quite unexpected, because it seemed to taste entirely different than the smell of the bag. Surprisingly, it got better in the aftertaste, as that seemed sweet and fairly pleasant, especially in comparison to the initial taste. However, the after-aftertaste was not as good, as parts of the puffs stuck to the teeth and had a gritty feel and tasted sort of like there was sand in the mouth. Overall, pretty bizarre and not pleasant to eat.

Smell test: Sugary and buttery, pretty good.
From the package: “What are Zing Puffs, you ask? They're a tasty new snack — derived from the careful blending of Zing (the imagingary sound your mouth makes when it bites into something flavorful) — and Puffs (that which is known for being delicate and light). Bring them together (like we do) and you have a deliciously satisfying snack unlike any you've ever tasted. All-natural Zing Puffs are bite-size pillows of wholesome brown rice, baked to a light, crispy crunch and infused with bold flavor combinations that'll make your mouth ... well ... Zing!”
