Serious Food ... Silly Prices Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt Kettle Potato Chips
Taste test: These potato chips were wiggly and had a light yellow color, with some areas of browning, plus some skin on their edges. Serveral of the chips were fairly large.
We crunched in to find a mild potato flavor but a surprising lack of vinegar zing or even taste. In fact, there was no vinegar to taste. None. That was even weirder after we took a whiff of the bag and did smell at least a hint of vinegar. Compared with the excellent original flavor, there was a similar good texture, but there seemed to be less salt and less flavor. As plain potato chips, these were still pretty good. But they were a complete fail as vinegar chips.
