PopCorners Memphis BBQ Popped Whole Grain Chips
Taste test: This was part of a new series of PopCorners flavors (which also included Sweet Cinnamon and Twisted Salt) featuring a hexagonal shape, rather than the triangular shape seen in the first six flavors of PopCorners. Besides the altered shape, these also were made from a whole different base material, as Whole Grain Sorghum replaced corn. We opened the bag to find that the chips were hexagonal, thin and very wiggly, kind of like the ones pictured on the bag, except even wigglier in many cases, with a mix of light and dark colors, much darker than shown on the bag.
We crunched in to find a light crunch and a very nice barbecue taste. The chips weren't made from corn, but the feel wasn't entirely different — a bit grittier, but with a similar taste. This was our tasters' favorite of the three hexagonal PopCorners flavors, as they ate their way through this flavor much quicker than the others and raved about the taste.
