Mariquitas Classic Plantain Chips
Taste test: These plantain chips were smallish and had a nice golden yellow color.
Our tasters crunched in to find a nice crispness and very good taste, with just enough salt to bring out the plantain flavor. Everyone who tried these while enjoying some beers after a road race gave them a thumbs-up.

Smell test: Good fresh plain chips smell.
From the package: “The plantain the taste of the tropics is a delicious tropical fruit similar in texture to the banana but different in taste. The plantain could be eaten raw but it is commonly cooked before it is consumed. In making our deliciously non-sweet, crispy plantain chips, we start by carefully selecting the highest quality green plantains which are then peeled, sliced and cooked in 100% non-hydrogenated vegetable oil.”
