Taste test: This bag of chips, much like the Original flavor, promised first and foremost to be full of chips, and when we opened the bag, that was very obviously true. The chips were densely packed right up to the top of the bag. They came in generally small pieces, some broken but most not, and somewhat wiggly shapes with many bubbles embedded inside. The chips had kind of a dull orange color generally, with a lot of seasoning on the surfaces, mostly orange, and also some occasional black bits.
We crunched in to find a good crunch, similar to other kettle-cooked chips, with a pretty good barbecue taste. It wasn't notably hot, smoky or sweet, nor a particular flavor standout, but it wasn't short on flavor either, as they added a lot of the standard spices, such as onion, garlic and paprika. And there were way more chips in the bag than you'll see from any other brand in this size bag.
Smell test: Mild barbecue smell.
From the package: “I'm full. Feel for yourself” ... “I have been eating potato chips my entire life and have always felt disappointment after opening the bag. Every bag puffed full of air with only a small amount of chips. I decided to change this. I set out on a journey to discover the best combination of ingredients, and after a lot of hard work and perseverance, I can say that we are truly able to make the highest quality chips and we are stuffing as many chips into each bag as we can.”
