365 Italian Hoagie Flavored Potato Chips
Taste test: This large bag of chips promised to taste like a heavily loaded Italian hoagie — or perhaps grinder, sub or hero, depending on the local dialect. The big sandwich on the bag even had a layer of potato chips near the top! But a closer reading of the bag left the intentions a bit more vague, as it referred to this line of products as "chips that taste like some of the world's best sandwiches" but more specifically said this one was "salt-sweet, oregano, coriander and a hint of tomato." That leaves out some of the most notable parts of an Italian hoagie, namely the meats and cheeses.
The chips were cut thin and had curvy shapes, a light yellow color with some areas of browning, and a smattering of large green seasoning bits, plus some smaller orange ones, scattered over the surfaces, with lots of skin around the edges.
I crunched in to find a nice crispy light crunch and a very tasty flavoring, which turned out to largely match the sandwich-seasoning description, rather than the fully-loaded sandwich one. (By way of comparison, the Reuben-flavored chips from Pringles really did taste like the totality of the sandwich, while the Utz Italian Hoagie chips got some essence of the sandwich, but not full picture either.) If not for the flavor name and big picture of a sandwich, I don't think I would have made the association to an Italian hoagie, but still, they were very tasty chips.

Smell test: Nice mix of spices and herbs, maybe like the ones used on a hoagie, but not really like the entirety of the hoagie.
From the package: “This is one of those wild ideas we had to make happen: Chips that taste just like some of the world's best sandwiches. Here, thin, crispy potato chips are layered with the flavors of an Italian Hoagie — salty-sweet, oregano, coriander and a hint of tomato. And crunch. Lots and lots of limited-edition crunch.” ... “giant sandwich NOT included!”
