Sun Puffs Four Cheese
Taste test: These corn-based snacks took their name and (in an obscure way) their shapes from Sun Chips — but they were actually cheese puffs. The rectangular puffs were fairly thick, with a series of narrow, parallel grooves that alternated sides to kind of (but not really) duplicate the ripples of Sun Chips. The puffs were pale yellow, with the cheese powder adding a bit of light orange color to most areas.
They had a light crunch and dense feel, with a whole lot of cheese flavor that seemed to cover all four of the promised kinds (Monterey Jack, Cheddar, Gouda and Mozzarella). It was a good taste, maybe even better if you happen to like this particular combination of cheeses, but not really a standout among cheese puffs for my tastes. For some reason, a good strong fluorescent orange cheese seems more appealing to me on a puff than a fancier combination of cheeses.
