Whitman's Solid Milk Chocolate A Charlie Brown Christmas

Taste test: This large, thin chocolate bar came in a gold foil wrapper within a thin cardboard case.

The artwork on the package depicted an altered cast from the actual "A Charlie Brown Christmas" — Franklin, Sally, Pigpen, Lucy, Schroeder, Marcie, Peppermint Patty, Charlie Brown, Linus, Woodstock and Snoopy. They unfortunately omitted the show's best dancer, 5, and his twin sisters, 3 and 4, as well as Shermy, Patty, Violet and Frieda (who has naturally curly hair). They can't claim to have excluded all of them for lack of space, as they included Marcie, Peppermint Patty and Franklin, who weren't even in the show (and didn't exist in 1965 when it was produced). It would have been better if they had stayed faithful to the show. Although it was nice to see at least some characters from the best of all Christmas specials on the package, we were disappointed to find that the candy bar itself had nothing to do with Peanuts at all. It was just a 4x2 grid of large sections, with a ridge around the edge of each section and nothing on the top — no Peanuts characters, no Christmas things, no Whitman's logo, nothing. In addition to the lack of any Peanuts, the bar also lacked any peanuts (which was fine, as it didn't promise any). The bar itself was good, with a creamy milk chocolate taste, and I enjoyed it with a glass of cold milk.
