Clover Valley Star Wars Fruit Flavored Snacks
Taste test: This latest in the wide array of themed, fruit-flavored gummy snacks focused on the Clone Wars part of the Star Wars saga, with shapes of R2-D2, C-3PO, General Grievous, Yoda, a Jedi fighter ship and a clone trooper (with helmet on). Anakin Skywaker and Obi-wan Kenobi were shown on the package but didn't actually have pieces with their shapes. The flavor did vary by color, but I couldn't figure out what some of them were supposed to be. Orange was orange, green was apple and purple was grape — but blue and red, I have no idea.
They all tasted pretty good, fairly fruity and not overly sugary. A major difference between these and some other fruit snacks was that they didn't try to make each character the same color consistently. For example, there were R2-D2 pieces colored green, purple and orange; and General Grievous came in red and purple. They did keep Yoda consistently green, but perhaps that's just because he's the most powerful of all Jedi, and all of the C-3PO pieces were orange, but maybe that was just to throw him a bone so that he would stop talking. Anyway, these were about as good as fake fruit snacks get, which is to say they were OK.
