Taste test: This wasn't the first box of Star Wars gummies that we've found, but it was different enough from the previously reviewed Star Wars gummies to warrant its own review and comparison.
Beyond having a different box design featuring just R2-D2, the gummies in the 10 separate packets inside were also different. Each bag contained a random assortment of about eight gummies. The figures in the other one included Clone Wars characters, but this box stuck to the original trilogy. And unlike the other ones, which had random colors for any given shape, these kept the colors consistent and (even largely sensible!) per shape. Yoda was green, C-3PO yellow, the Millennium Falcon orange, Darth Vader a very dark purple that could be mistaken for black, the stormtrooper red and R2-D2 blue. The details on the shapes weren't quite as clear as the ones illustrated on the box, but they did generally look good. R2-D2 looked kind of like a mailbox, and maybe the Millennium Falcon just doesn't lead itself to being a gummy, because it didn't look great. They were all kind of slightly translucent, except for R2-D2, which just looked like it was made from a whole different material.
The texture of these gummies was much the same as the others, as all were soft and moist. They tasted good, but the different types really didn't taste all that different — all of them tasted mostly like apple juice, though there were maybe hints of other juices that distinguished the different ones.
