Taste test: When I saw this box on the store shelf, it seemed like a terrible idea: Gummy candies shaped like Star Wars characters, with liquidy centers.
Really? So of course I bought a box. It contained six individual foil bags, each holding eight translucent gummy pieces, of four types: dark red C3PO heads; black Darth Vader heads; green Yodas (entire body); and orange R2D2s (entire android). I tried a whole bunch of them, and I was surprised by how good they were. The flavors were sweet and fruity without being overly sugary. Even the liquid center turned out to be a good thing. The liquid was sweeter than the rest of the gummy, but it tasted good and added some softness to the gummy while making it easier to chew. Was expecting the worst here, but ended up very impressed. These are definitely not just for kids. We shared them around with a tasting panel of adults, and without exception, everybody liked them.
