Taste test: With a very different wrapper design, this looked to be a whole new Snickers product line, as this version was released alongside Creamy Almond Butter and Creamy Almond Maple Butter flavors. But then I noticed the word "Squares" in much smaller type than "Snickers," "Creamy" or "Peanut Butter." When I saw "Squares," it immediately brought to mind Snickers Peanut Butter Squared, which we reviewed in 2011.
Like the Squared ones, the package contained two separate, square-shaped bars coated in milk chocolate. But the internal composition was different.
For this one, there was a thin bottom layer containing peanuts and caramel, topped by a layer of peanut butter — just peanut butter, with no nuts, hence the Creamy name. (Squared had three layers, with nougat on bottom, peanut butter with nuts in the middle, then caramel on top.) It was creamier overall than the Squared bar, so it delivered on its name, but all in all, it wasn't vastly different, because there were still crushed nuts on the bottom. Pretty good.
