Taste test: This jelly bean assortment had five flavors that corresponded to five kinds of Snapple juice drinks: Fruit Punch, Kiwi Strawberry, Magno Madness, Cranberry Raspberry and Pink Lemonade.
I'm a big juice drinker, but I don't have Snapple very often. Of the beverages included here, the one I'm likely to have most often is the lemonade. And almost every time I've had Snapple lemonade (whether pink not) in recent years (typically from a sandwich or pizza shop) my reaction has been: This is terrible. Anyway, as for these jelly beans: It took some work to match all the colors to flavors, even with a key. I tried the Pink Lemonade ones first, and I tasted some of whatever it is that I don't like about Snapple Lemonade, so not that good. The Mango Madness ones really did taste like mango (though I'm not a big fan of mango). The Fruit Punch ones were pretty good, juicy though ambiguously fruity, and sweet without being overly sweet. The Cranberry Raspberry ones had kind of a marble coloration, and they were fairly distinctive, as I could taste both cranberry (especially at first) and raspberry (mostly after). For the Kiwi Strawberry ones, I could detect some strawberry, and they were pretty good. Not the best fruity mix, but pretty good.
Smell test: Mild sweet citrusy smell.
From the package: “We include real ingredients whenever possible to create our famous true-to-life flavors.”
