Taste test: Most of the jelly beans in this assorted bag of irregulars looked pretty much like normal jelly beans, but it did contain a minority of misshapen and conjoined pieces. The conjoined ones looked pretty cool; most were joined roughly end-to-end, though some were stuck side-to-side. In all cases, the two conjoined pieces were the same flavor. Some of the non-conjoined ones did have slightly strange shapes, but most just looked like jelly beans. There was one piece that had an end cut off (and it tasted fine), but other than that, all the beans had their shiny exteriors intact. Most pieces lacked the Jelly Belly logo.
The only real problem with these was the same problem you get with most assortments: Some flavors won't be as much to any particular person's liking as others. You're best off sharing the bag and letting each person pick their favorites. Unlike most assortments, this one didn't come with a color/texture key, so you're on your own to figure out what each kind is supposed to taste like. For my tastes, there were a number of good ones and a few bad ones. There were several of the Butter Popcorn flavor, and I really liked those.
