ESPN Zone (New York City)More New York City Restaurants Location: 1472 Broadway at 42nd Street, Times Square Our thoughts: If you're a sports fan and in NYC, you should check out the ESPN Zone for lunch or dinner. The food is traditional chain-restaurant-style American. The portions are large, the selection decent and the price pretty standard for NYC. The restaurant's real draw is its viewing room, where you can eat and watch dozens of TVs large and small tuned to one of ESPN's 354 channels. The booths or tables allow you to hear the audio directly at your table and choose between the many ESPN channels shown against the far wall. If you're lucky, you may even snag one of the few Lay-Z-Boy style recliners in the front of the viewing room, where you can eat and chill like you're in your living room with 23 large TVs. The third floor of the Zone offers a large sports-themed arcade featuring everything from one-on-one hockey to parachute simulators. Tip: Ask to sit in the viewing room. Avoid the restaurant and crowds on big-game nights, such as Monday Night Football.
