Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino (Las Vegas)Location: 3700 W. Flamingo Our thoughts: The best part (and one of the selling points) of the Rio hotel is the fact that every room is a suite. Now, it's not like every room is a giant suite that the "whales" would get, but the rooms are larger than your standard hotel room. The rooms that we've stayed in have included a good-sized bed, a couch area, work table, walk-in closet and vanity area, and a bathroom. The extra space is definitely appreciated, especially if you are there for a convention and have collected lots of reading materials. The casino portion has a Rio de Janeiro theme to it ("It's always Carnivale!"), which means lots of very attractive cocktail waitresses dressed in that style. The casino seems to attract the younger set (see the types of attractions the hotel has), which also means it's tough to find a $5 minimum table at times. Other attractions include the "Masquerade in the Sky" show (free), Chippendales, Tony 'n Tina's Wedding, The Scintas (variety show) and Penn & Teller. The hotel also has several clubs and bars, including Bikinis, a club where you'll find a lot of scantily clad women and men dancing and drinking. Like every other mega-casino/hotel complex in Vegas, there are also plenty of restaurants and shopping available, including the Village Seafood Buffet, a very popular buffet spot. The hotel also boasts an excellent fitness center / spa area. The casino is off-Strip, which means it helps to have a rental car if you want to go to other locations, but you can always catch a cab if you want to. Tip: For the best spot to watch the free Masquerade in the Sky show, go upstairs to the second level.
