Microwave Pork Chips Habanero

Buy snacks at Amazon.com

Taste: These pork rinds required a few minutes in the microwave to transform them from flat pellets into puffs. And after trying the original flavor and liking them, we were eager to nuke this habanero variety as well. Some of the pieces near the bottom of the bowl didn't expand into full-fledged puffs, but that didn't matter much because there were still enough puffed pork rinds to make a good snack for several people, and the ones that puffed up tasted quite good. They were very crunchy and loaded with flavor, with other spices beyond habanero but also a slight kick of habanero heat. It was not the sort of overwhelming habanero heat to make me run for water immediately, but enough of a mild heat had built up after three pieces that I could feel some burn.

Aroma: Not much different from regular pork rinds — no habanero that I could smell.
