Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's
Taste: This square-profile box contained a tray holding 10 very thick, round cookies, all covered in chocolate with random bits of broken candy cane stuck to the exteriors. It looked like the tray was fully long enough to hold an 11th cookie, but unfortunately there were only 10. They sounded like a knockoff of the various chocolate-covered Oreos, but when we saw the actual cookies, they were quite a bit thicker than any chocolate-covered Oreos we've seen. How they got to be so thick was quite a mystery as we looked at them. Was the coating extra thick? Was there lots and lots of creme filling? Were the cookies especially thick? Was it just an illusion? It only took one bite into the first cookie to solve the mystery; the cross-section revealed that the filling was extremely thick, the two cookies were about average, and the top and bottom coatings fairly thick too. The mix of the four different tastes/textures was quite nice. These cookies weren't cheap at about 4 dollars for the box, but they were worth it. The snackers who we shared these with were somewhat stunned by how thick the cookies were, and everyone who tried one enjoyed it quite a lot.

From the package
"Everything is special during the holidays. Especially chocolate covered Joe Joe's. Trader Joe's Peppermint Joe Joe's are bathed in all natural ocean of deep, rich dark chocolate and then splashed inside and out with Candy Cane sprinkles. These chocolatey minty sensations have to be tasted to be believed. And like all holiday traditions, they disappear as fast as they appear and won't return until next year!"
