Taste: This retro packaging contained 33 Hydrox sandwich cookies, which are very similar to the better-known Oreo cookies, though Hydrox was apparently the original. The main difference that I could find between these and Oreos was the design on the surfaces of the two chocolate cookies. The Hydrox patterns were kind of floral, whereas Oreo has more geometric shapes, but both have ridges around the edges and a logo in the middle, so they're not all that different. I liked the taste of these, and I couldn't off-hand distinguish the taste from Oreos, though I was not doing a head-to-head comparison, as I didn't have any Oreos on hand.
"In 1908, Sunshine bakers intoduced America to its first crème filled chocolate cookie. People fell in love with its subtle sweet taste and rich chocolate flavoring that went so well with milk."
