Taste test: This can contained brownish, flakey-looking strips of squid meat. The actual color was darker than pictured on the can. Some of the strips were curled up to look like tubes, and a close look at the surfaces made them look almost like bananas cut lengthwise and then fried. However, they sure didn't taste anything like fried bananas. We crunched in to find a light and crispy texture, with a fairly mild fishy taste at first. It quickly advanced to a very intense squid taste, and for most of our tasters, that was a problem. Most people thought the taste was pretty bad, while some insisted it was the worst thing they've ever eaten. As with most of the squid snacks we've passed around to our tasters, there were also a few people who thought these were great. Still, we must compliment the great name they chose — all hail Mr. Squid!
Aroma: Strong fishy, squiddy smell. Bad. Need to keep the can closed.
