Taste test: This bag promised chips with some heat, and although we've seen flames illustrated on bags of chips many times, this was the first one to also include a fire engine. I opened the bag to find that the potato chips had a dark orange glow throughout, plus some even darker seasoning here and there. The chips had gentle curves, with occasional bits of skin around their edges, plus many small bubbles embedded inside.

I crunched in to find a good crunch and nice crispness, with a tasty mix of potato and mid-level heat to start. The heat grew stronger in the aftertaste and lingered for a long while. Very flavorful! The small bag contained quite a lot of chips, most of them unbroken and many of them fairly large.

Aroma: Kind of a standard barbecue chips smell, with some nice fresh potato.

From the package: "is it hot in here? Get ready to feel the heat of Engine co. 51. While others fight to extinguish the blaze, we crank it up a notch. Packed with the same intensity as those who rush into burning buildings, our Hot Potatoes are sure to spark a fire with smoke eaters everywhere. For starters, we ignite the flavor with only the best hand picked potatoes and slice them extra thick for a hearty crunch. Then we get the fire going with our unique blend of seasonings."
