Taste: These plantain chips had a subtle but very nice garlic flavor to them. If you're afraid of those chips with an overwhelming level of garlic, you need not fear these, as it was just enough to be tasted and to enhance the fresh plantain taste. The garlic was noticeable on the first bite, seemed to have faded away by the second, but they came back for a subtle encore in the aftertaste. Garlic and plantain turned out to be quite a good combination, and these were quite good.
"Crunch, Crunch, Crunch ... A melt in your mouth taste and you have just discovered the unique flavor of a green plantain chip. Their name is Chifles (pronounced chief-les). The plantain is a fruit that is imported from the same tropical countries as babanas. They are similar in appearance, but a plantain is larger and is eaten either green or ripe only when cooked."
