Alexia Onion Strips

Buy snacks at Amazon.com

Taste: With this snack, the folks at Alexia have made a major advance in the field of onion rings, as these were a clear standout from all of the ones we've tried before. Part of the appeal was that these actually were onion rings — as in, there was actual onion covered by actual batter. (They were broken up into strips, rather than being full-circle rings, but that's of little consequence.) The main appeal was that the taste and texture were just amazing, far better than any other bagged onion rings we've tried (and that includes Funyuns-style onion rings, which are really just potato with onion seasoning) and possibly even better than any freshly fried onion rings served at restaurants. Great onion taste, great crunch, great spices, just great!

Aroma: Wow, really nice sweet fried onion smell. Great!
