Bachman MultiGrain Treasure Puffs

Buy snacks at Amazon.com

Taste: I was expecting these cheese puffs to be a direct clone of Pirate's Booty, and though the snacks in the bag were somewhat similar, there were quite a few differences. The pale yellow puffs were irregularly shaped and smallish, with a much different shape than Pirate's Booty, sort of a wiggly mini-curl shape with numerous variations in shape and size. The taste varied a lot of from one puff to the next, as some pieces had very little cheese seasoning and tasted quite bland, while others had a good hit of white cheddar. The texture was pretty good, just remotely styrofoam-like with a light crunch. It's too bad they didn't coat all of the pieces with generous amounts of cheese, because that would have made these much better, but the pieces with lots of cheese on them were quite good.

Aroma: An OK cheese smell. Nothing great.

"Aged White Cheddar Baked & Crunchy Puffed Corn and Rice" ... "This treasure isn't buried beneath the sea; it's in every bag of delightfully cheesy Treasure Puffs. Individually puffed and shaped from the finest corn and rice, they're slow baked for that famous Bachman crunch that you love. Treasure Puffs are coated with a savory blend of aged white cheddar cheese, with a flavor as good as gold."
