Gaytan Baked Cheese Puffs Naturally Buttery Asiago Peppercorn

Buy snacks at Amazon.com

Taste: The cheese puff industry has branched out in recent years, with new shapes and even some variety of flavors, but this Buttery Asiago version from Gaytan took gourmet cheese puffs to new heights. We're glad that they did, because these were great. The puffs were generally a light yellow in color, with some green specks scatted over the surface. They had a pretty typical cheese curl shape, though most of the pieces didn't have much curvature to them. The texture was pretty good, though they didn't quite melt in the mouth as some cheese puffs do. Best of all, they had an excellent Asiago cheese taste that out tasters just raved about. I couldn't really taste much in the way pepper when I ate the puffs (the cheese was far more dominant), but there was a noticeable (though mild) aftertaste of black pepper.

Aroma: Very nice cheese smell, with just the slightest amount of pepper.
