Cocoa Krispies Cereal Straws

Cocoa Krispies Cereal Straws

Taste: This box contained two foil-wrapped packages, each enclosing a tray holding 12 cereal straws. The idea is that you're supposed to use the straws to drink milk, flavoring the milk in the process, and then you can eat the straw as well. Each straw was about six and half inches long, a half inch in diameter, and of course hollow. The outside of the straws (described on the box as the "Crunchy Chocolate Shell)" was a light chocolate color, and the inside of the straws (the "Chocolatey Flavor Lining") was darker. When I tried to drink milk through one of the straws, it didn't leak or anything, but as far as I could tell, the straw didn't flavor the milk at all. It just tasted like plain milk, so I was underwhelmed. When I just ate a straw on its own, it tasted quite good, with a slightly flaky outside, similar to some of the fancy chocolate wafer sticks. I ended up eating several of these in a row that way, as it's hard to stop eating them. As a munchie, these were pretty good, but they were sort of lame when actually used as a straw.

Aroma: Good cocoa smell.
