Wonka Mix-Ups

Wonka Mix-Ups

Taste: This version of Wonka's Mix-Ups included Nerds, Tart n Tinys, and Runts. Having only tried Nerds before, I knew what these looked like, they were the small, pebble-like candies with diferent colors (imagine a bunch of aquarium pebbles). The Tart n Tinys were a little bigger, and were more uniform in their shape (like a small roll of toilet paper cut in half with rounded edges). The Runts were the largest pieces, about the size of peanut M&M's. The Runts also seem to be shaped like fruit pieces or other shapes — there was a red piece shaped like a heart, and an orange piece shaped like an orange.

I suppose you're supposed to eat them all together (hence the "mix-up"), but I found it difficult to eat the larger Runts along with the other two sizes. When I did throw a bunch of them in my mouth, it became an explosion of sweet, tangy and fruit flavors all at once. I could definitely feel your teeth decaying from the sugar in this snack, so try not to bite down on everything all at once (maybe try sucking the candy instead of crunching).

Since I'm a fan of the Nerds candy, I'd rather just buy a box of those instead of having to filter out individual Nerds from the other two candies in this bag — I wasn't really impressed with the Runts. The Tart n Tiny's were OK, but you have to be in the mood for a sour candy to eat those.

Aroma: A sweet, fruit-like aroma. Kind of like when you smell a box of Fruity Pebbles.
