Red Vines Original Red Twists

Red Vines Original Red Twists

Taste: These red licorice sticks had a twisted spiral shape, with a hollow center. The ends were pinched shut, so you couldn't see the hollow center until after biting in. You might not think that licorice would be such a provincial thing, but almost none of our Boston-area tasters had ever heard of Red Vines (but everyone knew what Twizzlers are) when we showed them these. The taste was OK, but nobody seemed completely thrilled. Compared with the very plasticy texture of Twizzlers, these seemed less plasticy and more rubbery.

Aroma: Good cherry-like smell.

Trivia: According to SNL's Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg, if you have Mr. Pibb with Red Vines, it's crazy delicious.
